I have had to wear glasses since I was 9 years old, so I know a thing or two about getting eye exams. I just had one and it made me think…
It is critical for organizations to put on the right lenses to clearly see their current market position and in effect create their winning strategy.
Lord knows that over the years I have seen organizations piss away money with no thought of a real product strategy. Others have matched the right product with the wrong go-to-market strategy. Both scenarios initially look like pictures of success, but once you add time, those pictures begin to crumble.

Winning requires a balance between a lot of considerations; product/platform features, integration partnerships, customer acquisition, employee stability, brand development, etc.

Put It all on the table and put on the right “realistic” lenses to see your current position. You do not have to know it all. Partner with experts if you have to, but by all means do what it takes to address all you have on the table that will enable you attain that sustained win in market.

Part of great organizational leadership means they know when to get help because you are vested in that sustained win.

Stop and think about what you are doing to help your organization WIN or NOT WIN in market…

The saying that “time will tell” is powerful: Time will tell if you have taken the time to do things right. Time will tell…
